We recommend trimming the wooden wicks after every 4 hours of burn time and relighting the candle. Before trimming your wick, extinguish the candle and let the wax harden and reach room temperature. The burnt char needs to be trimmed off with the wick trimmer in order to avoid sooting and uneven burning of the candle. Trimming the wick and removing the burnt char keeps the candle pool clean and increases the longevity of the candle.
